Growing on the Go-Episode #4

Yesterday we looked at Psalm 1:1-2 and saw that true happiness, or blessing is found in knowing God and His Word and living according to His Word. We continue looking at Psalm 1 in our time together. Let me read for us Psalm 1:3-5.

It says,

   He is like a tree

planted by streams of water

that yields its fruit in its season,

and its leaf does not wither.

In all that he does, he prospers.

   The wicked are not so,

but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,

nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;

for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,

but the way of the wicked will perish.

The one who is blessed, the one who is satisfied by the Lord is one who is like a tree planted by streams of water.

The person who delights in God and His Word grows in his faith and God produces fruit in His life. The life of a tree is dependent upon the stream. This is true for us as Christians. God’s Word is like water that sustains and nourishes a tree by a river.

God strengthens us, grows us, and even sanctifies us through His Word.

  1. Dedicate a daily time to spend with God in His Word
  2. Delight in God’s Word by living faithful to it.
  3. Determine to stand strong relying upon God in the face of temptation or worldly peer pressure.

Remember that success for the Christian requires an eternal mindset. You will prosper in all things by bring glory to God in all things. This is our goal today, to honor God in all that we do, to be successful for Him, and he strengthens us and renews us.

I look forward to growing on the go with you again next time.
